    Where is marijuana legal?

The legality of marijuana is a topic that is often discussed when talking about this plant. I even have a curiosity for this.

I asked a few people to list countries where marijuana is legalized, and you know what? The responses I got were mostly about the Netherlands and America, but not every state has actually legalized marijuana, and there is no legalization in the Netherlands to this day.

    Quickly then, what is legalization?

The dictionary definition says that legalization is the granting of legal force, a specific legal status or recognition as lawful. In short, if the country legalized marijuana, it could be used without fear of conflict with the law. Of course, there may be some regulations and they will be different from country to country, such as how many grams you can carry or how many bushes you can grow.

In which countries is marijuana legalized?

Since you already know what legalization is, I will list all the countries where this plant is legal, now attention, do not be surprised sometimes.

Countries where recreational marijuana is legal are:

    • Canada,
    • Georgia- consumption and legal possession, prohibited sale,
    • South Africa- similar to Georgia,
    • Uruguay- without a permit for sale to foreigners, cultivation of up to 6 bushes.
    • America15 states have legalized marijuana but illegal at the federal level
    • Australia- legal on the territory of the capital - for use only, no sale,
    • Barbados - legal only for spiritual rituals by Rastas.

That's it, gets you surprised huh? Only these "7" countries have legalized marijuana, otherwise it is not with decriminalization or something I cannot name. We'll get to that in a moment, anyway.

There are countries where there is no legalization or decriminalization but! But having marijuana can be made possible.Such countries include, inter alia, Egypt, Thailand, Pakistan. An interesting example is India, where marijuana is legal, but only for the production of Bhang, i.e. hemp flower extract. You have to have a special license to sell it.

    Summary

As you can see, when it comes to legalization, so many countries don't have cannabis legalized. It is different with decriminalization or tolerance towards this plant, here the numbers are getting a bit higher, but still marijuana is a taboo in many countries and will be rather forbidden for quite some time. Although, who knows, this plant can save the economy, which was proven more than once. For example, Lebanon will legalize medical marijuana in 2020 to save the economy.
